Career:
Chris read law at Southampton University and then obtained an MBA from Boston University, USA. He was a Partner in a London firm until 1988, when he joined Downs to establish the Corporate &  Commercial Department. He became Senior Partner in 2002.

Specialisms:
Private company takeovers and disposals, joint ventures, company restructuring and investor agreements, acting as ‘general counsel’ to companies of all sizes.

Other Information:
• Chris has established good links with English–speaking lawyers in other jurisdictions, in particular in the USA and Europe.
• Chris has acted for many overseas companies regarding inward investment in the UK.
• Several links to local charities.
