Career:
After pursuing an initial interest in surveying, Michael qualified as a solicitor in 1981.  He became a partner at Atkins Walter & Locke, and joined Downs in 1991 upon the merger of the two firms.  He did a wide variety of property related work including litigation and company commercial, before settling upon property and has headed the department for 5 years.

Specialisms:
With his commercial background, he specialises in joint ventures and other complex commercial structures used for property ownership and development.

Other Information:
• Co-wrote “Profitable Conveyancing” published by the Law Society
• Consultant in the commercial development of a number of IT projects

Squash, golf, walking, gardening and rugby (watching only!)
