CITRIX

Remote Logon Procedure for Citrix XenApp Sessions

If you have previously completed Stage 1 and 2, please proceed to Stage 3, or click this link if you have used this system before: http://remote.downslaw.co.uk

Though these instruction were written for the Internet Explorer, generally people have less trouble when connecting through Firefox.  This web browser is optional and can be downloaded from www.mozilla.com

Stage 1

Before proceeding, if you have not already done so, you must install the “Citrix Receiver" version 3.1 or above.

To do this, go to www.citrix.com and click on “Downloads”

(Please note that Citrix may change their website after these instruction were written however it does stay generally the same)

Click on “Client Center” then “Windows” under the “for Desktops” area.

Download the “Receiver” by clicking on “Download” to its right.

Click “Download your file manually” and save the file somewhere you can find it afterwards.

Once downloaded, you need to run the file either directly from the download window, or by double clicking on it from where you saved it to.

The installation is very simple, just click “Run” and “Finish” at the end.

This is the end of stage 1.

Stage 2

Open the Internet Explorer (or other web browser) and in the address bar, type in:

remote.downslaw.co.uk

and then hit Return.

Log on with your normal network credentials (Note: older systems may have required downslaw\ on the front of your username, this system does not)

At the top of the screen, you should see a yellow warning bar saying “The previous webpage might require the following add-on: ‘Citrix Systems, Inc’……..”

Note: If you do not see this bar, then you can skip this Stage.

Left click on the yellow bar (not on the X), and choose “Run Add-on on All Websites”, then “Run” on the small window.

Close the Internet Explorer.

Stage 2 is complete.

Stage 3

Open the Internet Explorer (or other web browser) and in the address bar, type in:

remote.downslaw.co.uk

and then hit Return.

Log on with your normal network credentials (Note: older systems may have required downslaw\ on the front of your username, this system does not)

Click on “Auto Select Best Server” to start your session. Don’t forget to log off when you finish.
