Betchworth Pro Am

Downs were delighted to be the main sponsor of this year's Betchworth Park Golf Club Pro-Am. The Pro Am is a Southern Region PGA event that has been running for over 17 years and regularly atttacts up to 200 players making it one of the largest team events run by the South Region PGA.  The event is a great way to raise money for the Captains' charity which this year is Winston's Wish.

Surrey Union Point to Point

Downs were once again delighted to be invited to sponsor a race at the Surrey Union Point to Point meeting which took place at Peper Harow, Godalming, Surrey on Saturday, 13 May.   The Downs Solicitors Mens Open Race was won by "Franks A Million" which is owned by the Turner Family and trained by Edward Turner.  The winning jockey was Rupert Stearn.

Dorking Rugby Club take on the 22 Push Up Challenge

Last year 's charity fundraising craze was the Ice Bucket Challenge and it certainly took the world by storm.  This year's challenge is all about testing your fitness levels through the 22 Push Up Challenge. The challenge has certainly captured people's imagination and whilst it is a bit of fun, it does have a seroius message.

Meet our Udderly Beautiful Herd

One of our major fundraising activities for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity has been to participate in CowParade Surrey[] which is the largest outdoor art exhibition ever seen in Surrey. Because Downs has three office locations – Dorking, Cobham and Godalming, we have purchased three of the life-sized fibre glass cows. We commissioned three very talented local artists to add their own artistic flourish to each of the bovine beauties but with the brief to follow a specific theme.  As 2016 sees The Queen celebrating her 90th birthday and as Prince William is Patron of the Royal Marsden, the Royal theme seemed perfect.
