Menopause changing views: Menopause in the workplace webinar

Menopause is a natural part of the aging process and will affect all women at some stage in their lives with approximately 13 million women in the UK being either peri- or post-menopausal. It might surprise you that even though 1 in 4 of these women will experience severe debilitating symptoms 73% of them don’t seek help or treatment.

In our next Employment Bitesize webinar, we will provide you with information to enable you to raise awareness in your workplace around what women could be experiencing and how to provide appropriate support as well as flagging the potential legal claims available to menopausal women who feel mistreated in the workplace.

Our expert speakers will question the myths around the menopause and offer practical support for employers. Alongside David Seals and Heather Love, Downs Solicitors’ Employment Lawyers, will be Melanie Flood, Registered Nutritionist, Health Coach and female hormone expert.

David and Heather will be providing advice and some practical tips on:

• Background on menopause and current statistics
• Legal implications associated with menopausal women including recent cases
• Guidance on raising menopause awareness and nurturing a positive and supportive culture in the workplace
• Menopause challenges in the workplace; including managing sickness absence and performance.

Melanie will be talking about how Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine can help women in the workplace struggling with hormones and the perimenopause/menopause.

Melanie will touch on her unique 6 pillar philosophy she uses with clients to achieve hormonal balance during this important period of female life.

This includes:

• Nutrition
• Sleep hygiene
• Environmental toxins
• Stress management
• Movement
• Mind-body connection
