From 1st July 2019, Nicola O’Dwyer has been promoted to Partner and Head of EmployLaw. Nicola’s promotion comes following many years of experience and an impressive track record of consistently delivering high quality advice and expertise to a broad range of employment-related issues.

Downs supports Cobham Foodbank initiative

Downs has announced official sponsorship of Cobham Area Foodbank to help towards the cost of replacing the Foodbank’s van, which is used to collect food from donation points in the local churches and supermarkets, to take it to and from the Foodbank’s warehouse, ready to be distributed at the Foodbank’s distribution  centre.

Downs now proudly sports its name on the side of Cobham Foodbank’s newly-acquired refurbished Mercedes Sprinter van, which started its rounds this week.

Surrey Solicitor Qualifies as Mental Capacity (Welfare) Accredited Legal Representative

We are delighted to announce that Liz Dalgetty has achieved an accredited qualification that recognises a high standard of care for vulnerable clients. The accreditation was developed to allow the Court of Protection to appoint an Accredited Legal Representative ( ‘ALR’) to ensure that vulnerable people who lack capacity have representation in welfare related Court of Protection proceedings.

Surrey-based law firm, Downs Solicitors, have appointed David Seals as its new Head of Employment taking over from Matthew Kilgannon who will be leaving the firm shortly.
