Role Overview:

The firm is seeking an experienced and versatile Marketing Executive to help drive our firmwide marketing and client service activity. The Marketing Executive will work alongside our three part-time marketing and BD consultants who act as the strategic marketing lead, sponsorship and events lead, and PR and comms lead. The role would be ideal for a motivated professional with strong commercial awareness, excellent communication skills, and a passion for hands-on delivery. The role is vital to maintaining and elevating the firm's visibility, reputation, and growth. There is real opportunity to learn and grow as a marketing and BD professional and to take on more responsibility over the coming years. 

The role will include but will not be limited to the following:  

Key Responsibilities:

Digital Marketing & Website Management

  • Working alongside the strategic marketing lead and our website providers to maintain and update the firm’s website, ensuring content is current, accessible, and compliant. 
  • Liaise with external digital agencies to manage online campaigns, Google Ads, and CMS enhancements.

Content Creation – with the PR and comms consultant

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and our PR and comms consultant to produce high-quality, relevant content that supports brand and business goals. Including legal updates, press releases, newsletters, advertorial and web content.
  • Coordinate content calendars and editorial workflows.

Social media – with the PR and comms consultant

  • Help to plan, create, and schedule engaging content across LinkedIn and other platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and X.
  • Monitor engagement and performance, adapting strategy as needed.
  • Oversee multimedia content, including video and podcast production.

Collateral – with our external designer

  • Manage the creation and updating of marketing collateral such as brochures, banners, branded templates, promotional items and business stationery.
  • Coordinate staff photography and brand asset updates as required.

Events & Sponsorships – with the events consultant

  • Help manage our events schedule of networking drinks, seminars, and client events with our events consultant. This involves creating and distributing invitations, maintaining invite lists and monitoring attendance. It will also involve helping to set up and run events on the day and may involve occasionally working outside of the usual office hours. 
  • Act as internal liaison to generate internal awareness of events across the team and encouraging involvement. 
  • Support with the networking efforts of the team coordinating our attendance at events between offices and practice groups.

Advertising off and online

  • Coordinate with designers and media contacts to produce and deliver adverts and advertorials.
  • Supporting the directory entry process for both Legal 500 and Chambers across the firm.
  • Manage our online profiles on review sites such as Google and Review Solicitors.

Internal Engagement – alongside the strategic lead

  • Work closely with partners and fee earners to support all marketing and BD activities.
  • Encourage cross-office visibility and collaboration through regular on-site presence.
  • Support internal communications via regular e-mail updates and creation and updating of a marketing and BD SharePoint site. 

Ad-hoc marketing and BD requests

Managing the marketing inbox and handling ad-hoc marketing requests as necessary. Distributing to other members of the team where appropriate. 

Person Specification

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar marketing role, ideally within professional services (legal, accountancy, consultancy, etc.)
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Enthusiastic with the ability to work independently when required, but also as part of our team.
  • Confident communicator with excellent verbal and written skills including copywriting and proofreading. 
  • Comfortable collaborating with external consultants and internal team members of all levels
  • High level of attention to detail, creative thinking, and commercial awareness.
  • Knowledge of Content Management Systems, SEO/Google Analytics and CRM system experience.
